was born in 1926.
He is working as a patent attorney for more than 50 years.
His father also was a patent attorney, operating an office in Braunschweig. At the beginning of Joachim Fricke's education in a patent attorney's office in Munich, he met his future, and current, wife Charlotte. She remained a long term member of staff of Joachim Fricke for many years whilst he was working in Munich.
During a break in a proceeding at the Federal Patent Court (BPatG) he happened to meet Frank Reimund Leonhard. They spoke and Frank Reimund Leonhard agreed to work with Joachim Fricke after completing his education.
In his professional life, Joachim Fricke has focussed on inventions in the fields of packaging technology, window and fittings technology, agricultural machines and other technologies.
For over three decades, Joachim and Charlotte have overseen a twinned community: Mawande in Tanzania. Mawande (deanery of Makambako) was the purpose of ten trips and was the place where Joachim Fricke installed technically useful items for day-to-day life in Africa. Joachim and Charlotte played a decisive and effective role in setting up the community, i.e., school, kindergarten, fields of work, solar power.
In order to build mutual trust in Mawande, Joachim Fricke acquired all he could learn about local habits, historical development and the Kiswahili language. Mawande did not need patents but a serious commitment to the geographic altitude and traditional manners and conventions.
